Raymond Cohen is currently working on a study of the reconciliation between the Jewish people and the Catholic Church with special reference to the normalization of relations between the Holy See and Israel.

Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, Raymond Cohen has lived in Israel since 1968. He has been chair of the department of international relations at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and director of the Leonard Davis institute for international relations at the same institution. He has also had research fellowships at the Unites States Institute of Peace and the Watson Institute of Brown University.   

Raymond Cohen's expertise is international relations with an emphasis on conflict resolution and diplomatic negotiation. He has published numerous books and articles including Theater of Power—The Art of Diplomatic Signaling; Culture and Conflict in Egyptian-Israeli Relations—A Dialogue of the Deaf; and Negotiating Across Cultures—Communication Obstacles in International Diplomacy. His latest books published in 2008 are Isaiah’s Vision of Peace in Biblical and Modern International Relations and Saving the Holy Sepulchre—How Rival Christians Came Together to Rescue their Holiest Shrine 

At the present time Raymond Cohen is working on a study of the reconciliation between the Jewish people and the Catholic Church with special reference to the normalization of relations between the Holy See and Israel. He is spending the 2008-9 academic year as Corcoran Visiting Professor at the Center of Christian-Jewish Learning of Boston College.
